The treaty of Versailles was signed between the Allied powers and the Germany. It was actually forced upon the Germany. The terms and conditions of the treaty which were very harsh for the Germany are as :
1. The Germany was forced to surrender some of their territories and colonies to the Allied powers. Germany lost almost 13.5% territory of her pre- WW I territory.
2. Germany was made solely responsible for the damages caused by war and was asked to pay a huge indemnity to the allied powers.
3. The size of armed forces of Germany was fixed or reduced to One Lakh men only. She was not allow to keep tanks and submarines. More over Rhineland was demilitarized.
So the terms and conditions were politically, economically and militarily harsh for the Germany which made the Hitler to violate the treaty and it ultimately lead to World War II.
