Answer:

Overview

The 3 types of muscle tissue are cardiac, smooth, and skeletal. Cardiac muscle cells are located in the walls of the heart, appear striated, and are under involuntary control. Smooth muscle fibers are located in walls of hollow visceral organs, except the heart, appear spindle-shaped, and are also under involuntary control. Skeletal muscle fibers occur in muscles which are attached to the skeleton. They are striated in appearance and are under voluntary control.

Cardiac muscle

Cardiac muscle tissue is one of the three types of muscle tissue in your body. The other two types are skeletal muscle tissue and smooth muscle tissue. Cardiac muscle tissue is only found in your heart, where it performs coordinated contractions that allow your heart to pump blood through your circulatory system.

Smooth muscle

Smooth muscle, also called involuntary muscle, muscle that shows no cross stripes under microscopic magnification. ... Smooth muscle tissue, unlike striated muscle, contracts slowly and automatically. It constitutes much of the musculature of internal organs and the digestive system.

Skeletal muscle

Skeletal muscle. ... It is a form of striated muscle tissue, which is under the voluntary control of the somatic nervous system. Most skeletal muscles are attached to bones by bundles of collagen fibers known as tendons. A skeletal muscle refers to multiple bundles (fascicles) of cells joined together called muscle fibers.

Answer:

the three kinds of muscles are smooth muscles, cardiac muscles and skeletal muscles.

smooth muscles

appear spindle shaped

are present in the walls of visceral organs except the heart

these are under involuntary control i.e we cannot stop or start their functioning when we want to.

skeletal muscles

these are present in the muscles that are attached to the bones of our body.

they are striated i.e they have stripes on them when observed under the microscope.

they are under voluntary control i.e we can start or stop their functions according to will. i am able to type this because of the action of the voluntary skeletal muscles attached to the bones in my fingers:)

cardiac muscles

these are located in the walls of the heart

they too appear striated

and are under involuntary control ofcourse you cant stop their function by will..

now, why does the heart have special kind of muscles of its own,

its because it is a very vital organ that demands constant work to pump the blood. so normal muscles that will get fatigued upon continuous work cannot work for pumping blood.

cardiac muscles do not get fatigued under normal conditions.

refer to attachment too......

hope it helps......
