The Indian cropping season is classified into two main seasons-(i) Kharif and (ii) Rabi based on themonsoon. The kharif cropping season is from July –October during the south-west monsoon and the Rabicropping season is from October-March (winter). The crops grown between March and June are summercrops.

rabi season:
these crop are sown in winter and harvested in summer season.imp. crops are wheat peas etc.
zaid season: these are grown in between kharif and rabi crop season. eg. muskmelon, watermelon
