Answer:
It is possible to divide the brain into three fundamental units:
- Fore brain,
- Mid brain and
- Hind brain.
Fore brain:
- The 'forebrain' is by far the biggest division of the brain.
- It involves the brain, which covers about "two-thirds" of the mass of the brain and most other brain structures.
- The forebrain comprises of two so-called telencephalon and diencephalon branches.
Mid Brain:
- The midbrain is the brain region connecting the "forebrain to the hindbrain".
- The brainstem connects the cerebrum to the spinal cord.
- The midbrain controls motion and helps with "auditory and visual information" processing.
Hind Brain:
- The hindbrain consists of two sub regions known as metencephalon and myelencephalon.
- There are several cranial nerves in this region of the brain.
- The metencephalon contains the trigeminal, abductive, facial, and 'vestibulocochlear nerves'.
