Answer:
Town planning of an Indus city .
The twin cities of Mohenjodaro and Harappa formed the hub of the civilisation. The houses in these cities were planned according to the climatic conditions. The houses had a series of roomsopening into a central courtyard that served the multiple functions of lighting their rooms, acting as a heat absorber in summer and a radiator in winter, as well as providing open space inside for community activities. There was no openings towards the main street, thus ensuring privacy for the residents.
The cities had an advanced drainage system. The kitchens and the bathrooms had drains connected to the main sewers in the street. The twin cities had broad roads and smaller lanes. The streets had rounded covers to allow the turning of carts easily.
The Great Bath excavated in Mohenjodaro is a 55 metres long and 35 metres wide oblong pool. Built entirely of burnt bricks, it could be entered at either end by means of a staircase. There were walls with openings, which provided access to a cloistered walk running round the bath. The natural tar called bitumen covering the bricks made it water-tight.
The Citadel in the western end of Mohenjodaro was an area built on top of a mound of bricks. This area may have been used for public gatherings, religious or important administrative activities.
The Granary in Mohenjodaro is a huge structure made of thousands of fired bricks and could hold enough food to feed the entire city for a long time.

Explanation:
The Indus valley cities were impeccably planned. The town was divided into two parts or sections which were the citadel and the lower town. the citadel was usually located in a high ground above the rest of the city. A strong wall made of burnt bricks seperated the citadel from the lower town. Historians believed that the citadel was occupied by the ruling class and the lower town by the common people
