In plants water is transported by the help of a tissue called Xylem in two ways:

1. Root Pressure theory

2. Transpiration Pull theory.

Root Pressure Theory:-

In this theory, water is transported by the Pressure of root. But this theory is only applicable to plants of certain height.

Transpiration Pull Theory:-

In this theory, water is transported by transpiration force. Due to this a suction Pressure is created in the cells of leaves due to which they demand water from the neighbouring cells and ultimately from Xylem tissue.

These system works passively without any expenditure of energy..

I have not explained translocation of food since you have only asked transportation.
