➡When you turn a screw,it undergoes two kinds of motion at the same time. ▶translatory motion or linear motion - motion in a straight line ..and, ▶circular motion - motion around an axis ( because screw is turned also around an axis and it goes inside through a straight path).

1. Translatory Motion : As a screw is turned, it moves horizontally forward.

2.Rotatory Motion: In order to move the screw forward, the screw has to rotated.

Hence, the screw undergoes two kinds of motion, i.e. Translatory and Rotatory motion.
