Franz noticed that everything was as quiet as a Sunday morning.

M.Hamel didn't angrs on the day of the last lesson, when ever he saw Franz ,he told him very kindly to take his seat.M.Hamel was in his beautiful dresses which wore on the days of the inspection and prize giving days.

In addition to the whole school stemmed strange and solemn. But the thinks that surprised him about was to see the village people were sitting quietly on the back benches.

All these unusual thinks were noticed by Franz on the day of the last lesson.

• The atmosphere of the school was as quiet as if the day was Sunday. There were no usual sounds that one may have heard outside the window. Everything seemed strange and solemn to Franz.
• The teacher wore a shirt and cap that he used to wear on prize and inspection days.
• The most unusual was that the people of the village were sitting on the backbenches which remained vacant.
