Conductors are metals that make electrical wires. Insulators are the coatings on those wires to prevent them touching each other and other things, thereby preventing short circuits and energizing things that shouldn’t be energized.

Insulators are used in switch boards, switches and coating on plastic is also insulator. All wires in our household are coiled with an insulator.

Electrical conductors are metals which allow electric current to pass through them from one side to the other when batteries connected across the conductor ends.

Examples are copper, aluminum silver ...

They are used to generate electricity in the power station, to transmit power to homes, to generate light in the filament lamps, to generate heat in heaters or irons.

Insulators are materials which do not allow electric current or charge to pass or flow from one side to the other end when batteries are connected across two ends of the materials.

Examples are plastic , cloth, elastic rubber tyres wood etc.

Insulators are used to protect people from electrical equipment to prevent heat burns or electric shocks.
