Answer:

A major part of all living organisms is made up of water. Human body has about 65% water and some plants have as much as 95% water. It is an essential compound for the survival of all life forms. In comparison to other liquids, water has a high specific heat, thermal conductivity, surface tension, dipole moment, dielectric constant, etc.

These properties allow water to play a key role in biosphere. The high heat of vaporisation and heat capacity are responsible for moderation of the climate and body temperature of living beings.

It is an excellent solvent for transportation of minerals and other nutrients for plant and animal metabolism. Water is also required for photosynthesis in plants which releases into the atmosphere.

ANSWER :

USEFULNESS OF WATER IN BIOSPHERE AND BIOLOGICAL SYSTEM

  • Water is essential to all forms of life water constitutes about 65% of the body weight of animals and plants and is essential for their growth.
  • We can live without food for some days but it is very very difficult to live without water.
  • This also plays an important role in photosynthesis in plants. Plants takes Carbon dioxide and releses oxygen.
  • Every day each family required atleast 100 lts. of water for fulfilling their basic needs.
  • Without water the natural vegetation will not able to survive and intimately we human will suffer.

PROPERTIES OF WATER:

  • Water is liquid with freezing point of 273.2 K and boiling point of 273. 2K.
  • It has maximum density of 1 gram centimetre cube at 277 K.
  • Water has strong hydrogen bonding in its molecule.
