Answer: Amoeba procures its food with the help of temporary finger like projection, pseudopodia by a process which is termed as phagocytosis.

Pseudopodia is the temporary projection of the cell wall in amoeba which helps it in locomotion as well as food intake.

It surrounds and takes in the food particle in the form of food vacuole.

Food vacuole ( also called phagosome) fuses with lysosome and forms phagolysosome, where the complex food is digested and gives the simple food.

The simple food particle thus obtained is diffused in the cytoplasm and undigested substance is released out of amoeba.
