On the basis of age, the population of a nation can be classified into three broad categories as given below:


*Children – Any person below 14 years of age falls under this category.


*Adults – This is the active or working age group and represents any person between 15 and 60 years of age.


*Aged – This is the retired sect and is used to refer to a person above 60 years of age.

The population of a nation is divided into three categories:

1) Children: They are economically unproductive and comprises of children between the age of 0 to below 15 years.

2) Adult:These are economically productive and biologically reproductive and comprises of people between above 15 years to below 59 years.

3)Aged:They can be economically productive but can,t be recruited through employment and are above 59 years
