following are three demands of Sri Lankan Tamil :-

  • their should be no discrimination between them and the Sinhala residents of Sri Lanka in government jobs and university posts
  • their religion whether Hinduism or Christianity should be equally respected with that of Buddhism
  • there should be given equal political rights.

by following ways they struggled for their independence.

  • they launched struggles for the fulfilment of their demands
  • they established several political organization and demanded region autonomy
  • they started some sort of a civil war when their legitimate demands were denied by the Lankan government.
