There are 3 type of blood cell. Red blood cells (Erythrocytes), White blood cells (Leukocytes) and Platelets (Thrombocytes). 

Red blood cell function: Transport oxygen from the lungs to the body cells. Take carbon dioxide from other tissues and bring them into the lungs.
 
White blood cell function: 
Kills bacteria through phagocytosis. They also release super-oxide breaks that have the ability to kill many bacteria at the same time 

Platelets function: the part of cells used by the body for coagulation.Helps promote other clotting mechanisms.
