The fall of Bastille prison may be considered as the start of the French Revolution.
The king had ordered troops to move into city and destroy the crops. When the citizens came to know about that, they gathered and formed a people's militia of 7000 peoples. They stormed into Bastille as it marked the king's authority and released 7 prisoners after killing the jailer. After the fall of Bastille, many people kept the broken pieces of Bastille as its remembrance.
