ouija board was used to call ghost and ask questions from ghost but there was twist in a story that ghost was against of ouija board and was on strike because people were calling them without any reason but John hallocks wife used ouija board for his own selfishness and but John hallock can't stop his wife because his wife never listened hallock

ouija board plays an important role in the story as the whole story revolves around the ouija board . first of all the narrator wants to write a ghost story but he is unable to find a plot then suddenly a ghost appears before him to warn him not to use these boards because they (ghost) were going for a strike after that lavinia told hallock that she had bought an ouija board which will help him write a story the helps him write a story but it also worsened his relationships , family.
