Answer:-

The Required Numbers Are 45 and 15.

Explanation:-

Given:-

  • The difference between the two numbers is 30.

  • When greater number is divided by smaller the quotient (i.e. the answer) is 3.

To Find:-

  • The numbers.

So,

  • Let the greater number be x and smaller number be y.

  • Since the difference is positive therefore smaller number is subtracted from larger one.

Therefore ATQ:-

↦ Greater number - Smaller number = 30.

↦ x - y = 30....(1)

And,

↦ x/y = 3.

↦ x = 3y...(2)

So we get the value of x = 3y.

And Hence,

By putting the value of x in eq(1) we get:-

↦ x - y = 30.

↦ 3y - y = 30.

↦ 2y = 30.

↦ y = 30/2.

↦ y = 15

Therefore the required value of y is 15.

Again,

By putting the value of y in eq(2) we get:-

↦ x = 3y.

↦ x = 3 × 15.

↦ x = 45.

Therefore the required value of x is 45.

So the numbers are x and y = 45 and 15 respectively.

And Hence The Required Numbers Are 45 and 15 respectively.

Answer:

45 and 15

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the numbers are 'a' and 'b'. Consider a is greater than b.

  Their difference = 30

                ⇒  a - b = 30

                ⇒ a = 30 + b

When greater( here, a) is divided by smaller(here, b), quotient is 3.

⇒ a/b = 3     ⇒ a = 3b

   from above, a = 30 + b:

⇒ a + 3b     ⇒ 30 + b = 3b

                   ⇒ 30 = 3b - b

⇒ 30 = 2b

⇒ 30/2 = b

⇒ 15 = b

        Hence, a = 30 + 15 = 45
