1)   Child labour refers to the employment of children in any work  that deprives children of their childhood, interferes with their ability to attend regular school, and that is mentally, physically, socially or morally dangerous and harmful.

2)   Child labour has existed to varying extents, through most of history. 

3)    Worldwide agriculture is the largest employer of child labour.

4)    Poverty and lack of schools are considered as the primary cause of child labour.

5)   These children mainly worked in agriculture, home-based assembly operations, factories, mining and in services such as news boys.

7)   Companies including Gap ,Primark ,Monsanto have been criticised for child labour in their products. The companies claim they have strict policies against selling products made by underage children, but there are many links in a supply chain making it difficult to oversee them all

Considerable differences exist between the many kinds of work children do. Some are difficult and demanding, others are more hazardous and even morally reprehensible. Children carry out a very wide range of tasks and activities when they work.
