Answer:

Following is a description of the feelings the poet would have,

Explanation:

I feel pain and agony with every passing day of my life as I try to live up to the expectations of this fake society. I understand that everyone who meets me and greets me does it out of pure formality. They do this without heart, they fake their smiles and they fake their warm welcomes to me.

I do not like to extend my hand in welcome to people. I do not like being fake. I do not like lying to people's faces about being entertained by their company when in reality I am actually bored.

This society is full of hypocrites and I feel like with every passing day, I too am becoming a hypocrite because when I see myself smiling in the mirror. I know that this is a fake smile. A smile to be worn for outsiders' liking.

I want to be like my son. Pure and open, as children could be. Because as we all grow up society takes us in and we become afraid. We are afraid to be the odd ones out. I believe once upon a  time when I was like my son, life was simpler and easier. Atleast, more truthful.
