Answer:

HOW PLANTS COPE WITH THE DESERT CLIMATE

Desert plants tend to look very different from plants native to other regions. They are often swollen, spiny, and have tiny leaves that are rarely bright green. Their strange appearance is a result of their remarkable adaptations to the challenges of the desert climate. Aridity is the sole factor that defines a desert and is the primary limitation to which desert organisms must adapt.

Desert plants use very small quantity of water.

• The environmental availability of the water is very less in the desert regions.

• But,the water is mandatory for all types of plant.

• To survive in the water scarcity affected desert region, the desert plants use very less amount of water. They adapt their body in such a way, that less amount of water can be used for their survival.

• These plants also reduce the amount of transpiration to retain the water for longer period of time which can be helpful for longer survival with little amount of water.
