Required materials- Two glass mug, 2-3 ice cubes, hot water, cold water and stop watch.

Procedure- Take two glass mugs filled one mug half with cold water and other mug half with hot water. Put 2-3 ice cubes in both the mugs. Stop watch is an optional if you wanted to record the time of melting of ice. Next observe the melting of ice cubes.

Observation- We can observe that ice that we put in hot water will melt faster that the ice cubes of cold water.

Result and interpretation- According to the law of thermodynamics energy or heat moves faster from the hot object to a cold object and it will never move in other direction. When ice cubes was put into the hot water, transfer of heat will take place on the ice cube surface and begin to melt because faster distribution of heat will take place in large temperature difference. Same will happen with the chocolate.
