The movement of the plant in the the direction of stimulus is called tropism

Aim: To demonstrate hydrotropism in plants

Method:

i.Plant Seedling in a vessel containing soil

ii. adjacent to the Seedling put a porous pot containing water

iii. leave the setup for few days

OBSERVATION :

and examining the roots of seedling it is observed that the roots bend towards the source of water and don't grow straight.

RESULT :

It confrims that plant shows hydrotropism as the roots bend towards the porous pot of water. As hydrotropism is a plant growth response in which the direction of growth is determine by a a stimulus of gradient in water concentration
