Despite many sexual reproductive organs, many plants carry out asexual reproduction, because, asexual reproduction helps in producing a very sturdy plant.

This plant is genetically-identical to the parent and shows a high maturity rate.

The asexual reproduction takes place in plants using 4 techniques, i.e., budding, fission, regeneration, vegetative propagation, fragmentation and spore formation.

Asexual reproduction is of 2 types, i.e., vegetative reproduction (e.g., potato plants) and apomixis (many types of ferns, grasses and dandelion).
