1) Horizontal asymptote, as the name suggests, is a horizontal line or asymptote parallel to X axis. Similarly, a vertical asymptote is a vertical line which is parallel to Y axis. Here, we are going to focus on oblique asymptotes. When a linear asymptote is not parallel to either X-axis or Y-axis, it is known as an oblique asymptote. Oblique asymptote is also called as a slant asymptote. This type of asymptote is a straight line with an equation

y = m x + c

where, x must not be equal to zero; otherwise, the line would become parallel to X axis and hence would be a horizontal asymptote.
