Given data:-

  • The acceleration of bodies A and B having masses 70kg and 35kg respectively.
  • The tension in the cable due to application of the 300N force.

Here,

Froce = F ; Mass = m ; Acceleration = a

—› Let, m1 & m2 be the masses of bodies A and B respectively.

Hence, m1 = 70kg & m2 = 35kg

& F = 300 N

Solution:-

We use formula to determined the acceleration of bodies A and B.

—› F = m × a

{ Mass of the system 'm' = m1 + m2

Mass of the system 'm' = 70 + 35

Mass of the system 'm' = 105 kg. }

—› 300 = 105 × a i.e.

—› a = 300/105

—› a = 20/7 m/s² OR

—› a = 2.8571 m/s² ( approx )

Hence, the acceleration of bodies A and B is 20/7 m/s² or 2.8571 m/s².
