The Wish
It was a sunny day of July , the scorching sun was brighter than ever , when a girl was walking home from school along a road in Maharashtra .
As she was walking , her head was in a deep thought about all the homework her teachers gave her that day.
Just the thought if it made her tired. She thought to herself "what if I hide my bag somewhere along the road and tell my teacher that I lost it , that way I can escape the homework " , but soon after much thought she realized it was a useless plan.
She thought "I wish I had a genie that could help me with my homework ".
And just then
the sun was covered in dark clouds and the winds blew as if they couldn't anymore.
And a genie appeared out of the blue infront of her .
Surprised and startled she realized her wish had come true.
The genie asked her" dearest child what is it that you wish for , remember you may have only two wishes."
Overflowing with happiness the girl says" I wish that I had no homework to do "
The genie grants her wish , and her homework vanished.
The genie warns her " dearest child , you now have only one more wish"
To this the girl replies " I wish that I never have to do any homework "
The genie grants the wish yet again.
But now the genie seemed a bit dull. A bit sad
Seeing this the girl asks "What happened ? why are you sad?"
To this the genie replies " You seemed to be a sweet child , one whose happiness came from helping the weak , which is why I came to you , but I see now that I was mistaken. "
The girl felt bad and ashamed for her selfish wishes
She asked the genie if he could undo her last wish so she could make another one .
The genie agrees .
The girl makes another wish " I wish that the poor and weak , the rich and strong , the troubled and successful all would realize that helping each other and asking for help is not a shameless thing to do , instead it is our greatest gift as a human being."
With that the genie smiled and all the clouds disappeared.
The wish was granted.
