He boarded the train happily and searched in his pocket for the ticket. the train already left the station when he searched his second pocket for the ticket. Taking out a piece of paper, he sighed with relief that he found the ticket but noticing carefully he realized that it was a lottery ticket that he bought the other day. He comprehended that he had lost the train ticket.
He was sitting anxious knowing the consequences. He knew there was a fine of rupees 500 to travel without a ticket so he decided to get off at the next station. To his utter shock, the ticket checker arrived five minutes later. He was caught and told to get off when the train halts at the next station. He was also charged 500 rupees as the fine.
He was having quite a bad day. He decided to call his mother but when took out the phone it fell on the train floor and the phone broke. He was sure that he was having the worst day as after a major public embarrassment his phone gave up too.
On the arrival of the next station, he got off. He sat on a bench buying a newspaper. He was casually going through the news when suddenly he noticed the lottery winners section. With no hope, he decided to match the lottery ticket that he had with him. But to his outright surprise, he saw that he had won a lottery of five lakhs. He could not believe his eyes and with sheer concentration, he checked the number again. It was his ticket.
The day turned out to be the best and hence the story is named luck by chance.
