I saw a small boy standing in the woods and crying. He had missed the last bus to the space port that was about 100 km from earth. 
 
Humanity had decided to desert earth and move to Mars where a successful civilisation had been established. Reports said that the factories were all put up in the orbit and planet was meant only for human habitation. Power supply was fully solar and transportation was 100% electric. 
 
The wood had been one of the last few habitable places on earth. The average temperature of earth was now 40 degrees celsius. The wood was actually 1500 ft. above sea level in the year 2004. But now it was just 1000 ft. The ice caps near Arctics had nearly melted. 
 
Jay was an old
