hey mate...

=========================

Let's say that quadrilateral ABCD represents the square piece of cloth.

The area of this square is 9 sq.m.

Since, 16 skirts are to be made from this square piece of cloth, the sum of areas of 16 square skirts will be equal to the area of quadrilateral ABCD.

Therefore, area of 16 skirts is 9 sq.m. Therefore, the area of 1 skirt will be (9/16) sq.m.

Since, the area of a square is equal to the square of the length of its side, the length of its side would be the square root of its area.

Therefore, the length of its side would be √[(9/16) sq.m.], i.e., 3/4 m or 0.75 m.

Hence, the length of the side of 1 skirt should be 0.75 m.

hope it helps .. ^_^
