There are two major types of crops grown in India, the crops grown are Rabi crops, Kharif crops:
Kharif crops: These are the major crops that are grown during the rainy season. In India (June to September) the month is known as "Kharif crop". Few types of this crop are maize, groundnut, cotton etc.
Rabi crops: It is also another major crop. It is grown in the month of October (March to March) which is known as "Rabi crop". Some parts of this crop are gram, wheat, mustard, peas etc.
