Diagonal relationship of Boron with slicon Boron shows Anomalous behaviour in its group because of its small size and non. availability of D orbital it resemble as silicon the second member of the next higher group.

it is due to:
as atomic radius of boron is close to silicon
and
two have almost similar value of electronegativity
both also occur in free state in nature
both are non metals
both show allotropy
both are semi conducting
