( Refer to the attachment )

Neurons are the cells present in nervous system. Each neuron has two parts two parts

i) Cell body - Also known as cyton. It contains a central nucleus and cytoplasm with characteristics deeply stained particles called Nissle's granules that is clumps of ribosomes.

ii) Cell processes :-

Dendrites - These maybe one to many, generally short and branched cytoplasmic processes. They receive impulse from the receptor or other neuron and bring it to cyton.

Axon - It is single generally long process which conducts impulse away from cyton to other neuron. Axon of one neuron is very closely placed to the dendrons of another neuron to carry impulses from one to another neuron in the form of electrochemical waves this close proximity is called as synapse.

Neuron can be Mylinated or non myelinated. The myelin sheath of neuron helps to absorb shocks.
