Answer:
Father: Hello! Sonia dear. Your performance in school was appreciated by everyone. You have not only improved in your grades but also in your co-curricular activities. I’m really proud of you.
Me: Thank you so much, dad! I worked really hard this year and it paid off! Thanks for the encouragement few months ago. Without that push, this wouldn’t have been possible.
Father: Anytime dear! So now when school’s over what do you want to do?
Me: I’m not very sure. I do have some options in mind but I haven’t decided on anything.
Father: What are the options you’re thinking about?
Me: I’m confused whether I should take up a professional course or an academic one…
Father: What’s your aim in life Sonia? I remember you wanted to be an astronaut when you were young…but seriously, have you thought about anything?
Me: Yes dad! I want to be a fashion designer and work with world famous designers. Later I want to start my own label.
Father: That’s good! But why are you confused then?
Me: I also like the subject English and want to study it further. Plus, if I want to start my own label later in life, I do need to have business knowledge for which I think a management course is necessary…
Father: Hold on! Take one step at a time. Why don’t you do all three?
Me: Huh? How’s that possible?
Father: It’s simple. You want to pursue English Honours so go for it. Meanwhile, prepare for fashion designing and once you graduate, get yourself enrolled into a fashion designing institute. Once you settle with your design work, take up a management course and learn. But let me tell you, the experience you gather practically in a work environment counts more than the degree.
Me: Thanks Dad! You are life saviour!
Father: Whatever you do, never stop learning, keep an open mind, work hard and appreciate others…then nothing can stop you from achieving your dreams.
Me: Thank you dad! I will surely remember this learning.
