Question:-

Diameter of wheel of bus is 1.8 meter.How many rotation will a wheel complete while travelling a distance of 50 km ?

Given data:-

—› Diameter of wheel ( d ) = 1.8 m

—› Radius of wheel ( r )

= d/2 = 1.8/2 = 0.9 m

Travelling a distance by wheel = 50 km

Solution:-

First we need to find circumference of wheel hence,

Let, assume that wheel in circular shape

—› circumference of wheel = 2πr

—› circumference of wheel = 2 × 22/7 × 0.9

—› circumference of wheel = 44/7 × 0.9

—› circumference of wheel = 44/7 × 0.9

—› circumference of wheel = 39.6/7

—› circumference of wheel = 5.657 meter (approx)

Hence, wheel cover 5.657 meter in one rotation.

{ Convert 50 km in meter }

—› 50 km = 50 × 1000 = 50000 meter

To find rotation by wheel in 50 km

—› Rotation by wheel in 50 km

= {50000 meter}/{5.657 meter}

—› Rotation by wheel in 50 km

= {50000 meter}/{5.657 meter}

—› Rotation by wheel in 50 km

= 8838.60 rotation

Hence, 8838.60 rotation completed by wheel while travelling a distance of 50 km.
