Firstly. know that diamond doesn't sparkle they reflect.
Diamonds sparkle isn't because they have high refractive index, it's shape matters to.
Diamonds have cut out shape so light reflect multiple times in it and send light all directions from it.
Actually they don't shine or sparkle, they reflect the light coming from any source.
