Dear Diary, 9:15pm
Today while coming back from the office I saw the old mango tree by the park being cut down .I stopped the car and asked the PWD workers why they were doing this . They told me that the road needed to be broadened so the tree needed to be cut down as it was in the way .
After hearing that I was extremely dissapointed that tree played a big part in my childhood and youth . I he'd learned how to walk under that tree, I learned how to climb trees on it , I remember plucking the unripe mangoes from the trees and taking them home so that mother would pickle them . so many memories ..... and now suddenly these PWD workers come and try to take them away !? I couldn't let this happen so I have decided to file petition to stop them from cutting the tree .
nowadays , people are carelessly cutting trees as if they are mere obstacles in the way if their development . I do not know why they forget that . trees also get rid of Co2, trees exhale oxygen, many medicines come from rainforests many many animals lose their homes when the trees are cut down.People should stop cutting down trees because trees take in Co2 which causes global warming.
I hope I am able to save the previous tree.
