Resource conservation is one of the most important aspects of the industries in modern time.
It is a well known fact that optimization concept is a relatively new phenomenon of the 70s when the industrialization caught the fancy of the world.
Therefore, the colonial government of the past did not take steps in the conservation of the resources.

✔The concept of resource conservation is a relatively new concept.
✔It started gaining ground since the 1970s when problems of pollution, ozone depletion and resource depletion started becoming serious.
✔This happened due to large scale industrialization in the world and rapid population growth.
✔During the colonial period, resources were regarded as plentiful.
✔The technology of production was still relatively traditional and the population growth was moderate.
✔Hence, hardly anyone at that period saw the importance of resource conservation.
✔Therefore, the colonial government of India never tried to conserve resources.
