Did elephant come from mammoth?

yaa...elephants have evolved from mammoth..bcoz as the timebof stone age (pathologic age) came to an end...the mammoths were not been able to survive...as they were very giant...and they needed a large amount of food...to survive...which was scarced...thus..they adapted and many mutations came in their DNA...a new species was introduced which was elephant... but its ancestor was mammoth
