The city-dwellers did not appreciate the road-side stand.

EXPLANATION:

In the poem ‘A Roadside Stand ’, Robert Frost tries to highlight the high-handedness and snobbery of the city dwellers. Some poor village farmers had put up a road-side stand to sell their fresh vegetables and fruits. They had hoped that the vehicles of the city-dwellers that sped past would stop and buy their products. They could then earn some money and perhaps lead a life as comfortable and luxurious as the city-dwellers.

Unfortunately none of the city dwellers stopped to buy. The few that halted were only complaining about the way the signposts had been fixed. They did not appreciate the roadside stand.
