Answers
Yes, the nationalist movement in India spans all segments of Indian society. Most of the nationalist movements in India were launched by the people themselves. For instance, all sections of the society including women, children, political leaders and traders took part in the Dandi march to launch a mutual fight against the newly proposed salt charges. Thereafter, people launched the Civil Disobedience Movement; they recommenced the process of salt-making and began boycotting the goods made in England. The colonial rule in India affected many tribal people by imposing new forest laws on them. Therefore, in response to the newly introduced forest policies, the tribal people throughout India re-belled against them some of the important tribal uprisings in India include the Gudem rebellion, the Kol uprising, the Mappila etc. Cripps mission, the Simon commission are some of the other events that saw a large of participation of the Indian people. Hence, it may be said that the unity of all sections of Indian society became one of the major cause for the freedom of India.
