Both molarity and molality can both be used to measure concentration.Molarity is defined as the number of moles of a solute that are dissolved in 1 liter of a solution. Molality is defined as the number of moles of a solute that are dissolved in 1 kg of a solvent.

Molarity is the ratio of moles to volume of the solution (mol/L) while molality is the ratio of moles to the mass of the solvent (mol/kg)
