The difference between soap and detergent is

SOAP- they are produced from natural ingredients

DETERGENTS- they are produced from synthetic sources

SOAP- they are made from alkali and fat by specification method.

DETERGENTS- they are carbonic compounds which are not alkali

SOAP- they don't produce lather with hard water and they are not able to clean a cloth

DETERGENT- they can clean a cloth even in hard water.

SOAP- lot of water is needed to remove soap from cloth

DETERGENTS- we can remove detergents even with less quantity of water.
