Cytoplasm

Cytoplasm is defined as the mass of protoplasm lying outside the nucleus in which the Cell organelles are embedded. The aqueous phase of cytoplasm excluding cell organelles is calledCytosol. It is a colourless, homogenous, translucent, amorphous andColloidal fluid. It is composed of various molecules such as water, salts of Na,K and other metals and organic compounds such ascarbohydrates, lipids, proteins, nucleoproteins, nucleic acids and enzymes.

nucleoplasm

Similar to the cytoplasm of acell, the nucleus containsnucleoplasm, karyoplasm, ornucleus sap. The nucleoplasm is one of the types ofprotoplasm, and it is enveloped by the nuclear membrane (also known as the nuclear envelope). Thenucleoplasm includes thechromosomes and nucleolus. Many substances such asnucleotides (necessary for purposes such as the replication of DNA) andenzymes (which direct activities that take place in the nucleus) are dissolved in the nucleoplasm. The soluble, liquid portion of the nucleoplasm is called thenucleosol or nuclear
