tornado=a tornado is a rapidly rotating column of air that is in contact with both the surface of earth cumulonimbus cloud, or in rare cases, the cumulus cloud.

cyclone=a cyclone is a large scale air mass that rotates around a strong centre of low atmospheric pressure.
