Both are a type of parenchyma but aerenchyma is present in aquatic palnts with large air cavities to give them buoyancy to help them float whereas chlorenchyma contains chlorophyll and perform photosynthesis. in some situations, the parenchyma contains chlorophyll and performs photosynthesis.
