.Aerobic Respiration:

  • Respiration which occurs in the presence of oxygen is called as aerobic respiration.
  • It occurs in cytoplasm and mitochondria.
  • The high amount of energy is produced
  • Final product is carbon dioxide and water.

Anerobic Respiration:

  • Respiration occurring in the absence of oxygen is known anaerobic respiration.
  • Takes place in cytoplasm only.
  • Less amount of energy is produced.
  • Final products are Lactic acid (animal cells), carbon dioxide and ethanol (plant cell).
