The religious policy of Akbar is known as 'Din-e-ilahi', which literally means the integrity of all the religions. Akbar tried to harmonise all the main policies of the major religions in this new religious policy. Whereas, Aurangzeb was a staunch Muslim. I hope this helped.

In less words, if you want to understand, Akbar followed the policy of reconciliation & deen ae ilahi(gist of all religion), on the basis of which he used to sit the scholars saints and gurus ulema of all religions and listen to the good things of their respective religions and try to apply them in their politics. He did not molest any religion, whereas in contrast Aurangzeb was famous for his Muslim fanaticism. Did not hold any faith.
