National Permit is a sub category of All India Permit. NP is issued to any goods carrier by the State Transport Authority whereas AIP can be categorized into permitfor taxis, buses, trucks and other good carriers. So next time when you see any goods vehicle written eiher with AIP or NP, dont get confused.
