Difference between alluvial and loamy soil:
- The alluvial soil is primarily formed by flooding. Therefore it has been along several different rivers.
- These rivers are the major northern rivers of India Loamy soil, however, are the mixture of equal parts of slit and sand.
- The alluvial soil is the mixture of silt, and clay is 40%,40% and 20% respectively.
- The loam soil is the mixture of sand and clay.
- Nutrient content of alluvial soil is very low and the loam soil nutrient content is high.
- The differences aren’t that major which is why in most instances, the alluvial soil can also be termed as loamy.
- The alluvial soil is generally more fertile and loamy soil is less fertile.
- Alluvial soil is the deposit formed by flooding.loam soil is deposited by waterlogged in the winter season.
