Veins:

 Structural Differences:

  1. Tunica Media are thinner.
  2. Lumen is broader.
  3. They are not elastic.
  4. Valves are present.

 Functional Differences:

  1. Carry deoxygenated blood except pulmonary vein, which carries oxygenated blood.
  2. They carry blood from the entire body back to the heart except pulmonary vein, which carries blood from lungs to heart.

 Other Differences:

  1. Blood is dark red.
  2. Blood flows passively.
  3. They are superficial.
  4. No pulse is felt.

Arteries:

 Structural Differences:

  1. Tunica Media are thicker.
  2. Lumen is narrow.
  3. They are elastic.
  4. No valves are present.

 Functional Differences:

  1. Carry oxygenated blood except pulmonary artery, which carries deoxygenated blood.
  2. They carry blood from heart to entire body except pulmonary artery, which carries blood from heart to lungs.

  Other Differences:

  1. Blood is bright red.
  2. Blood flows with a jêRr due to the systolic pressure.
  3. They are deep seated.
  4. Pulse is felt.

Carry oxygenated blood from the heart except the pulmonary artery. Carry deoxygenated blood from the body parts except the pulmonary vein.

Blood flows under high pressure. Blood flows under low pressure.
